Buffalo, New York. 10th National Encampment, September 1913 souvenir medal with "Delegate" red and orange ribbon connecting two pieces of metal. Top piece features a buffalo atop a scene of the Battle of Lake Erie, bottom piece is a circular medal with "United Spanish War Veterans" surrounding a trio of figures at center. Minted by Bastian Bros Co., located in Rochester, New York. The United Spanish War Veterans was an organization which consisted of American veterans of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine-American War and the China Relief Expedition. Soon after the Spanish-American War ended, in early 1899, discharged veterans formed fraternal societies to keep in touch with their former comrades.
