United States Treasury, Assistant Treasurer of the United States at Philadelphia, Gold Coin Certificate Uncut Pair. Philadelphia, PA. 186x, Temporary Loan of 1862 Hessler X134 F, United States Treasury, Assistant Treasurer of the United States at Philadelphia, Gold Coin Certificate. A newly discovered uncut pair (the original and duplicate) of “Pro Patria”, listed on page 234 of Gene Hessler’s book: “An Illustrated History of U.S. Loans 1775-1898” . Rare Gold Coin Certificate. This was a certificate for depositing gold coin for at least thirty days and receiving the principal plus interest when this certificate was surrendered. The amount of gold coin deposited would be hand-written in and these were a multiple part form. This pair of both the original and duplicate, grades Very Fine Plus with bit of toning on the ledger section as shown, a few tiny pin holes and minor edge splits.
