United States War Savings Bond, Series E, December 7, 1945, the 4 year anniversary of Pearl Harbor, $100.00 Issued through the National Bank of Washington in Washington, D.C. Black text with black border, Grover Cleveland at left. Red serial number with purple bank stamp above it at right. VF condition. Series E savings bonds were sold by the American government to support U.S. Armed Forces in World War II. This bond is a reduced size, enacted to save paper and money in 1944. Towards the end of the war, the bonds were renamed Victory Bonds.
