Issued July 1, 1912, Black printing with black border, Abraham Lincoln at center, U.S. Treasury Seal underprint in red at right, Purple specimen overprints, and 0000 S/Ns. Sheet of 40 coupons attached at bottom, back green, Long coupon bond, 22.0cm by 37.0cm. AU condition. In 1911, the U.S. Congress established the Postal Savings System, which offered an alternative to traditional bank savings and securities. Provenance: From the John E.
