Washington, D.C., 1917, $50, Second Liberty Loan of 1917, 4% Convertible Gold Registered Bond, issued Nov. 15, 1917. A rare registered bond that was issued without coupons. These registered bonds had checks mailed directly to the registered owner, which in your cataloguers opinion makes them rarer than the more readily available bearer bonds as there was little additional evidence of their existence. This is only the second one ever seen in modern times. Black and Brown print on cream paper. Engraved Treasury officers signatures, Jefferson Vignette on obverse. Embossed U.S. Treasury Seal. Brown print on reverse with Transfer documentation for review. Printed by the BEP.
