Washington, D.C., May 9, 1918, $50. United States of America Third Liberty Loan of 1928 Coupon Bond. This Bond unlike it's predecessor in the next lot is a "Long Coupon Bond" The Coupons ran from #5 through #21. With its' vibrant "Candy Apple" Red color, this Bond from the Third Liberty Loan issued May 9, 1918 is a favorite of both Currency and Non- Collectors, especially when framed. The obverse as mentioned bright and strong red inks with a blue U.S. Treasury seal. Engraved Treasury signatures and strongly Embossed Treasury seal. Note please that the red color seen on the reverse is NOT Bleed through due to dampness. It is due to the strong inking on the front. Vignette of Jefferson on front and a "watchful" American Bald Eagle on the reverse. A beautiful Bond. Printed by the BEP.
