Washington, D.C., 1917, $100, United States of America, Liberty Loan 30 year Gold Coupon Bond of 1917. This was the 1st design of the Liberty Loan Bonds of WWI. These Bonds were special in that the looked like "Large Paper Money". Designed to inspire purchases by patriots all over America. Vignette of Andrew Jackson on the Left and the Statue of Liberty pictured on the right. This bond in Booklet format literally had the series of 60 coupons (This Bond is Complete with original banking envelope) bound in to the bond itself. Beautifully colored $100 First Liberty Loan has all of its 60 coupons attached. Bond displays excellent color with a bold blue Treasury Seal and serial numbers on the bond and coupons along with a vibrant orange color back with "Columbia" and Bald Eagle . Engraved signatures of Teehee and McAdoo. Embossed U.S. Treasury Seal. Usual light folds are seen on this scarce bond. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated as received from the bank, any collector would be proud to own this beautiful piece of American financial history. Printed by the BEP.
