1911. Salt Lake City, Utah. I/U stock certificate. 75 Shares. Black border. Possibly the first photograph of an early airplane used on a stock certificate. Photo of an early design biplane is on UL. Fine condition with some fold separations at folds and archival tape reinforcement on back. 2 were found in an old estate, this is the better example. Signed by L.R.Culver as president. was the site of some of the very earliest airplane flights in the west, startedin 1909 and continued through 1911. These experimental flights were made by L. R. Culver about six years after the Wright brothers flew their airplane at Kitty Hawk in 1903. Culver built the aircraft as a glider and then a motor was added to power the craft. His most successful flight was about fifty feet off the ground and lasted for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Extremely rare and historic aviation certificate.
