July 30, 1866. $35.03, I/U but endorsed on back, Draft or warrant, black printing on white paper with black border, Post Master General on lower left, Patriotic spread winged eagle, with sailing and steamboat on top middle, signed by Zevely as 3rd Asst. Postmaster General, the warrant is directing Justus Cobb, Postmaster at the Middlebury Post Office to pay C.C. Abbott, S/N 937, XF Condition. The printer imprint is missing but there is a very small lettered logo to the lower left of the postmaster portrait that deserves further research, but the printer is either the B.E.P., NBNC or ABNC.
