2 different specimen bonds. $5000 Collateral Trust Note, green border and $500 5 1/2% Collateral Trust Note, brown border. Both with allegorical woman flanking company logo with eagle. Small piece of the corner missing on the $5000 note. Red specimen overprints and POC's. Morris Plan banks were at the forefront of an explosion of consumer credit that started at the beginning of the 2nd decade of the 20th century and they became the prominent institution for providing consumer credit to the poor through the 1920s. In 1910 there were few institutions existing for provision of consumer credit to low and middle-income individuals. Aside from retailers, the primary provider of consumer credit to the poor was the loan shark. Historic early consumer credit lending company before Visa, M/C and Amex.
