Seattle, Washington, 1907. $1 Issued Certificate from the Seattle Clearing House Banks, Black printing on light green paper, S/N 3621 in red at top center. Green text on back. Choice Fine to VF condition with some toning. Printed by Tucker, Hanford Co. This certificate was issued as a result of the Panic of 1907, a financial crisis caused by a significant drop in the New York Stock Exchange and a subsequent run on banks. Clearing House Scrip Notes such as this would be issued in place of paper money due to the crisis.
