Lot of 4 Issued National Bank Stock Certificates representing post–Civil War banking in the nation’s , Includes: Farmers & Mechanics National Bank, Georgetown, District of Columbia; and National Metropolitan Bank of Washington, District of Columbia (3 examples, including differing formats and share denominations). Certificates feature engraved vignettes with eagles, allegorical figures, and detailed views of the U.S. Capitol. Several examples show endorsements, revenue stamps, dividend or transfer notations, embossed seals, and period signatures.
