Lot of 35 Issued bank checks, drafts, certificates of deposit, and one mining stock certificate representing frontier financial activity in Arizona, Dakota Territory, Oregon, Utah, and Idaho. Includes examples from First National Bank; Pima County Bank, Tucson; Cochise County Bank, Tombstone; Bank of Bismarck; Bank of Walla Walla; First National Bank of Portland; Whitewood Banking Co.; Bank of Idaho; and Niagara Mining & Smelting Co., Salt Lake City, among others. Designs feature allegorical figures, mining and frontier vignettes, territorial bank imprints, revenue stamps, and ornate engraved typography. A diverse Western expansion era group spanning mining camps, stage lines, and territorial banking operations.
