Washington, D.C., 9.75 x 13 inch Silk sheet with printed images related to President William McKinley and possibly produced for the Pan American Exposition, including a portrait of McKinley and his wife, Ida Saxton. Also includes a portrait of Leon Czolgosz, the man who assassinated the president, as well as images of the United States Capitol Building and the White House. Printed on brown fabric, the images have a blue tint. Fine-VF condition with very slight fraying along margins. William McKinley (January 29, 1843 – September 14, 1901) was the 25th president of the United States from 1897, until his assassination in 1901. During his presidency, McKinley led the nation to victory in the Spanish–American War, raised protective tariffs to promote American industry, and kept the nation on the gold standard in a rejection of the expansionary monetary policy of free silver.
