San Francisco, California, 1880s. Pair of Uncut U/U Checks, Black text with black border, green background, Portrait of David Farragut illustrated at left. VF-XF condition. David Farragut was a flag officer of the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He was the first rear admiral, vice admiral, and admiral in the United States. He is remembered for his order at the Battle of Mobile Bay usually paraphrase as "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" in U.S. Navy tradition. BEP.
