Toronto, Canada, Wrong date on holder, should be ca.1830's to 1843 at the latest. P-Unlisted, 7701402P, uniface proof note, 1 Dollar / 5 Shillings, 1849-1856, graded by PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. The Silver City Collection was discovered in 2010 in the basement of an old bank building. The 200+ notes were all proofs by RWH & predecessor companies dating between 1810 and 1843 with none later, this note was one of 4 or 5 Canadian pieces found in the Silver City find. Evidently it was a forgotten archives of RW&H, Boston that was overlooked. These 200+ notes were the only survivors out of close to 5000 notes or more that were found since the balance were dumped by workers at the bank. Please see our previous Silver City - Round Mountain auction to view the amazing and mostly unknown Obsolete notes that were part of this find. (ex-Silver City Collection).
