Brazil, ABN Proof Vignette "Dom Pedro" 1880-1920s. Used on Obsolete Banknotes, stocks, bonds and checks. 3 x 3.25 inches. ABN LDP Proof Vignette printed on india paper that is unmounted. "Dom Pedro, C - 80" imprint, printed by ABNC. Dom Pedro II, nicknamed "the Magnanimous", was the second and last monarch of the Empire of Brazil, reigning for over 58 years. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, the seventh child of Emperor Dom Pedro I of Brazil and Empress Dona Maria Leopoldina and thus a member of the Brazilian branch of the House of Braganza. This Portrait vignette by ABNC was used on Brazil Banknote Issues including 1880, Estampa 2, 500 Reis, P-A243; 1882, Estampa 6, 2 Mil Reis, P-A251; and many other banknotes. Rare proof vignette.
