France, Germany & England. Group of 32 original postcards featuring photographs and illustrations of military aircrafts and pilots, ca. 1910-1930s. Most are French, with 3 from Great Britain and 2 from Germany. All are unused and in VF to mint condition, mostly black and white, and some have small notes made in pencil. Featured aircrafts include the Westland "Wallace" General Purpose Military Biplane. In 1933 a Westland Wallace became the first aircraft to fly over Everest, as part of the Houston-Mount Everest Flight Expedition. Also featured is a Vickers-Vimy Rolls-Royce Aeroplane, a British heavy bomber aircraft developed and manufactured by Vickers Limited. Developed during the latter stages of the First World War to equip the Royal Flying Corps, the Vimy was designed by Reginald Kirshaw "Rex" Pierson, Vickers' chief designer. (32)
