Russia, 1917. I/C First Exchange for $25,000. Includes St. Petersburg crossed-out and replaced with Petrograd. The city, known in English as "St. Petersburg." was changed to "Petrograd" in 1914 at the start of World War I because its original name sounded too German. Following Lenin's death in 1924, the city was renamed Leningrad until 1991, when it reverted back to Saint Petersburg. Fine condition with paid and accepted stamps throughout.
