The Rancocus Toll-Bridge was initiated in Philadelphia to build a covered bridge over Rancocus Creek, which is a tributary of the Delaware River. Signed by Joshua M. Wallace as company president. Wallace was a political leader and an important figure in New Jersey history. He was a Burlington County Delegate to the New Jersey Convention that ratified the new U.S. Constitution in 1787.
