Venezuela and New York. ND ca.1950-83. Unique progress proof series of compound proofs printed on india paper mounted on white thin card. Each card has the same designs of a design element on the left, a portrait of 3 different male workers standing over small buildings with the progress proof series of Simon Bolivar portraits that are the exact ones used on multiple Venezuela banknotes dating from 1890 until the 1960s. The progress proof Bolivar portraits have various elements of the back ground engraved in a variety of designs. The portrait can be found on Banco De Venezuela, 1890 to 1936, $500 and 1000 Bolivar notes by ABNC, all rare and desirable. It was also reused on later issues beginning in 1940 until the 1960s in various denominations also. 3 of the proof cards have "Experiment" hand written on them with 2 having the dates of September and October 1983 written. All are in Uncirculated to CU condition.
